Celebrating Karen ~ Chears to 60 Years!

Celebrating Karen ~ Chears to 60 Years!

My little sister is turning 60 years old this year. She has been my little sister for as long as I can remember. She inhabited my childhood bedroom, first in her little white crib with the baby lambs on it,  And then with our bunk beds and blue/green flowery corner group. Though four years younger than me, we have such fun whenever we get together. This celebration was perfect for us!

Karen chose Disneyland and California Adventure for her Birthday Bash.

That's my daughter and my niece and my sister - our celebration Party of Four (minus me).

Day One ~ Arriving at the airport from Minnesota and Arizona.

First night dinner at Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel - Drinks all around.

And a delicious bowl of Salmon Poke too.

Day 2 ~ The California Adventure Food & Wine Festival filled with all yummy things California.
California Adventure has changed so much throughout the years. We love what they have done in the Land of the Avengers with the refurbed Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction, and Web-Slingers.
Other faves are in Cars Land and Soarin' Over California.

My nephew and his wife joined us on day two for all the fun.

My favorite treat - a giant chocolate hazelnut Mickey macaron. Oh My Land.
It was absolutely delicious!

We all loved the brisket sliders, the habanero chicken wings, the beer flights, and the cocktails!

Also delicious - the Gyro salad, the Buffalo Poutine, and the Blueberry-Peach Cobbler.
There was so much delicious food at the festival.

We truly enjoyed the Cubano Sliders, the Garlic-kissed Mac & Cheese, the Garlicky Sirloin and Mashed Potato Combo, all the beer and wine, and the Blueberry Pancake Cold Brew Coffee.

The California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is held during the months of March and April (typically) and is strewn throughout the California Adventure Park. We tried almost everything but were worn out and stuffed to the gills by the time we got to the Artichoke Booth. Sadly.
We didn't even have room for a hot-fudge sundae at Ghirardelli's this visit.

This is our second time attending and the crowds show just how much everyone has missed getting out and about following our Big Covid Adventure!

Day 3 ~ Disneyland Park
We were last here together about 4 years ago, and not a whole lot has changed. Disneyland is still as delightful and imaginative as ever, loaded up with crowds like you've never seen.
Disneyland is celebrating 100 years of artistic wonder from Walt Disney and the Walt Disney Studios.

The four of us at The Golden Spike (the magical centerpoint of Disneyland).

And riding the rails of the Disneyland Railroad.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Blue Bayou. Steaks were grilled to perfection, and the sides were so perfect. We were again too full for dessert, and missed out on a Dole Whip this adventure as well. There is just too much good stuff to eat!!
Next time.

Disneyland remains a family favorite for us, having grown up in Southern California.
The nostalgia, the twinkly lights at dusk, the balloons, the rides, the food...
It's always a great time to visit, if you love the Magic of Disney.

Until Next Time,
Deb :)
